The Process #1 : Script Ideas
March 10th, 2010 by MelEveryone once in a while somebody asks me about my art/comic process. I often hesitate to answer this, fearing to reveal how amateurish my technique actually is.
The truth is that my system has been, more or less, scraped together out of a fairly basic understanding of the creative software I use, as well as my own sense of humour at the time. The process changes regularly as I pick up new tools/techniques, discard others, or focus on different elements of my work.
Since you ask though, I thought I’d do a series of blog entries that provide a rough snapshot of my current methods.
We’ll start from the very beginning, with finding ideas for scripts.
STEP 1: Concept and Script
I think this is actually the hardest part of the whole process, as there is a limit to how much control I have over my own creativity.
